About indieATL

indieATL is initiative of the Digital Arts Entertainment Lab at the Georgia State University.

Our mission is to promote independent artists and the music community, especially in Atlanta. We strive to make Atlanta an artistic and cultural destination. indieATL is a training ground for media-makers, learning production through real world experience. Students learn a variety of skills outside of the traditional classroom, including multiple camera shooting and editing, multi-track audio recording and mixing, encoding for the web, analytics, web design, graphics, and social media.  Currently, indieATL is featured on Comcast | Xfinity on Demand (see your local listings).

What We Do

indieATL is a project created by students in the College of the Arts at Georgia State University.

Over the past 16 years, IndieATL's mission has been to promote independent artists and the music community in Atlanta while also highlighting the city as a thriving artistic and cultural destination. Beyond promoting local talent, IndieATL serves as a hands-on training ground for media-makers to gain real-world experience in production. Through the program, students gain a variety of skills, including multi-camera shooting and editing, multi-track audio recording and mixing, web encoding, analytics, web design, photography, graphics, and social media. These skills are taught outside of the traditional classroom, providing a comprehensive and practical education.

 

Who We Are

The indieATL crew is composed of music lovers, audio engineers, filmmakers, writers,  designers, and passionate souls who strive to represent Atlanta’s creative community in its true form: diverse, dynamic, innovative, and expansive.
